The Head of HR is responsible in planning, leading, organising and execution of Human Resources strategies across KGS schools, including but not limited to implementation of Global HR Policies and Processes (Safer Recruitment, HRSF, Educare, CPD, Whistleblowing, EDI, etc.), Performance Review, Talent Management, Succession Planning, Remuneration, HR Budget, Staff Retention, and HR integration for newly acquired or newly built schools.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Recruitment :
Ensure Safer Recruitment standards are carried out in all stages of recruitment.
Ensure Single Central Registry is kept current and updated
Ensure recruitment is as per annual HR payroll budget and obtains justification from relevant Executive Heads for recruiting for open positions beyond approved annual HR payroll budget.
Ensure the recruitment forecast is aligned with the approved efficiency grid.
Select appropriate mediums for recruitment of new employees in consultation with other members of SLT.
Ensure that the schools in KGS are complying of the applicable immigration and visa & residency permit requirements for expatriate staff.
Ensure that all academic staff complies with the Ministry of Education teaching permit requirements.
Develop and implement plans and activities for new staff relocation, induction and on-boarding and ensure strategies are being followed.
HR Operations :
Ensure human resources policies and procedures are adhered to by all staff members of School.
Ensure human resource activities are aligned according to Inspired standards and also in compliance with the applicable local laws.
Review human resource policies and procedures periodically and provide recommendations for updates to the relevant Executive Head of School.
Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with employment-related laws and regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of personnel records of all staff members and comply with the applicable data protection laws.
Ensure that all staff have completed the mandatory Educare courses and have kept their HRSF profiles updated.
Responsible for leading, monitoring and reviewing the system of performance appraisal and continually develop as necessary.
Liaise with the relevant Executive Head of School in case of terminations.
Responsible for facilitating exit interviews to all leaving staff and collate information for presentation to the SLT.
Ensure that Exit Clearance procedure is adhered by all leaving staff.
Ensure availability and periodic update of job descriptions by coordinating with Head of Department to know of any changes in the duties and responsibilities for the current positions and developing job descriptions for the newly established positions.
Manage and deal with employee grievances and ensure proper implementation of disciplinary procedures.
Establish controls to protect confidential information from unauthorized access or disclosure.
Ensure that HR complies with the requirements of BQA, BSO, COBIS and MOE inspections and ensure HR is inspection ready at all times.
Promote workplace health and safety.
HR Payroll Budget :
Ensure realistic forecasts are prepared for HR payroll budgets and coordinate with the relevant country Head of HR and Executive Head to.
Ensure that overall staffing cost is in line with the HR Payroll Budget.
Run monthly payroll comparative analysis and obtain approval from the relevant Finance Director.
Advice management on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits for staff members.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS :
Master’s Degree in HR Management, Psychology or Business-related subject.
At least 3 years’ experience in HR administration in a managerial capacity. Working experience in an education sector is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
Strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
Experience in HR payroll budgeting.
Experience working in a Google environment preferred.
